Neuromuscular conditions is a term used to describe a wide-range of diseases that affects the peripheral nervous system. This system consists of all the motor and sensory nerves that connect the brain and spinal cord to the rest of the body. Neuro (brain) Muscular (muscles/body).
Neurological conditions are when the brain is mostly affected and the core communication function is damage. To send and receive a message is difficult due to acute trauma or disease.
Some examples of Neurological conditions:
- Cerebral palsy.
- Dementia.
- Epilepsy.
- Motor neurone disease (MND).
- Multiple sclerosis (MS)
- Parkinson's disease.
- Huntington’s disease.
Any condition that hinders the messages to and from the brain and body will result in a loss of important information being transmitted; cells, nerves and fibers suffer the longer their communication is limited or the more frequently they are 'lost in translation'.
The lack of strong connection (think Wifi) impairs sensory responses, muscle movement and other body functions which can manifest a whole lot of trouble for overall health.
When something is not working well, we experience what is known as a ‘symptom’ and that is basically a message in itself to tell us ‘Oi … need a bit of help here mate!’. One very common symptom is…. Pain!
There are more than 600 conditions/diseases of the nervous system and of that majority are incurable.
As the disease or condition progresses, the muscles will weaken and symptoms such as above mentioned pain, twitching, jerking, cramping and stiffening worsen. This can lead to a range of secondary issues such as rigidity, loss of grip, hand coordination, postural changes and evidently... FALLS! Not to mention other issues such as organ malfunction and vitamin depletion (including minerals and electrolytes).
Many of these diseases make the person living with them feel trapped and helpless as they watch their body deteriorate over time and at some stage their cognition level will also begin to deteriorate making life even harder. Further, ability to communicate and action their needs for what ailments or symptoms occur as a result of the disease will be difficult to manage on their own.
The process in managing the incurable conditions is to prolong strength and safety to move, walk, talk, eat, drink and live pain free as long as possible. There are many pharmaceutical options to help with this however research suggests that multimode (more than one act) approach to management has the ultimate outcome.
Following the disease management plan and incorporating additional therapies or supports for the body can give longer lasting benefits for symptom relief and acts like a buffer for all the other remedies or therapies used.
In fact, many non-pharmaceutical therapies compliment the pharmaceutical benefits by helping with absorption, release and metabolism.
Physiotherapy, aromatherapy, fine motor tasks or activities, speech therapy, diet/nutrition consult, behaviour support, massage, acupuncture, mental health and vitamin rich supplements being the top of the list. Lets not forget culture, spirituality and community as an extremely valuable and vital component to achieving wellness when dealing with chronic conditions!!!
-Treat the condition (the most important part of the task)
-Compliment the treatment (a secondary act to help fortify the first)
Think less dramatic- Adding softener to our washing doesn't change the cleanliness of our clothing, but it's an addition to the process that has a desired outcome. You can buy a detergent that guarantees you nice fresh and clean clothes, but the added softener has given a boost that isn't achievable with detergent alone. Can you think of another example where in everyday practice you have done an 'addition' to a task to make the end result occur faster or better?
In conclusion to the above, Rem & Recover Spray was made with the intention to help with the symptoms of the above conditions. Most other brands focus on 'sleep' and that it is a 'miracle' spray...well that might be the case but for us the purpose is deeper, scientific, proven and benevolent beyond that of a basic advertised magnesium spray!
